StarWay Roto and BCIRI Jointly Advance Liquid Nylon, with Material Scale-up Validated at StarWay's Plant
From September 9 to 13, 2026, the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) was held at the Shougang Park in Beijing. The Beijing Chemical Industry Research Institute (BCIRI), under the Beihua Chemical Group, showcased its engineering-plastics achievements, highlighting strengths in new chemical materials.
Among BCIRI's new-material programs, a liquid nylon project co-developed with StarWay Roto illustrates a "material + equipment" approach to collaborative innovation.
Moving liquid nylon from lab formulation to stable production depends as much on the forming process and equipment as on the material itself.
BCIRI contributes the raw-material technology for liquid nylon, owning the formulation and performance system;
StarWay Roto contributes intelligent electric-heating rotomolding machines, electric-heating molds, and supporting auxiliary machinery, taking on the process control needed to turn material into parts.
The two cover the full chain from molecule to finished part: BCIRI holds the material-side know-how, while StarWay Roto delivers the process-control capability. The uniform, controllable temperature enabled by electric heating is key to stable forming of heat-history-sensitive materials such as liquid nylon.
The industry–academia–research–application development of this liquid nylon material was carried out at StarWay Roto's plant. Material formulation, equipment commissioning, process parameters and part validation iterate on the same site: ideas from the research side are quickly tested through the machine's temperature curves and mold geometry, and real production feedback in turn drives optimization of the material system. This on-site loop — "formulation above, process trial below" — is where collaborative efficiency comes from.
Liquid nylon is a high-performance engineering polymer. Moving it from a lab formulation to a reliably molded part is as much about process and equipment as about the material itself — and that is exactly where collaboration across disciplines pays off.
The joint program between StarWay Roto and BCIRI joins BCIRI's material science with StarWay's rotomolding process and equipment capability, building a practical path from formulation to finished, usable parts. It is a concrete example of how advanced materials and rotomolding engineering can move forward together.
Rotomolding-grade liquid nylon targets components that demand oil resistance, chemical resistance, impact strength and lightweighting at once. Typical use cases include:

Motorcycle fuel tank application
Rotomolded nylon part samples
These parts often live long-term in oil, sunlight, vibration and temperature cycling — environments that set a very high bar for material reliability. If liquid nylon can be formed reliably, it offers a lightweight-yet-durable alternative for the mobile-equipment and chemical sectors. This is the real value of the joint program: it is not only about making the material, but about turning it reliably into usable parts.
StarWay Roto designs and builds rotomolding machines, molds and finished products, with an integrated chain spanning equipment, molds and parts, serving customers in more than 40 countries and regions. Beyond supplying rotomolding equipment, the company takes part in the engineering exploration of advanced materials and has experience building pilot lines and sharing engineering risk with research institutes.
StarWay Roto has been in rotomolding since 2003, with an integrated chain covering rotomolding equipment, mold development and custom part manufacturing, serving customers in more than 40 countries and regions.
